In Memory

I found this plate at the entrance of the Old Main building. It was placed there in memory of the founders. I found it to be similar to the plate on the Old Sorrel sculpture. I wish I had the means to make a plate like the ones I've shown. There's something rather dramatic about its level of permanence.

Interestingly, there was a large Roman numeral inscription of it's founding date on the building, just like the one from my previous post, only much larger. Exhibiting the founding date, reinforces a strong sense of establishment and tradition. Both examples on this building work well with the theme of typography that is meant to last.
