Shannon, I like what you have so far (yours is the top right?). I think that your gradients are working well and your type is really interesting.
I think that making your words "Thats not good enough" a little more gradiated it will brighten up the poster a little more which might work.
I like the colors you choose and maybe adding a little dark where each of your gradiated pieces meet would help give it a little more dimension like the pink one.
It's looking awesome so far! I think that if you added a gradient on the letters like your designer did to yours it would make it easier to read your type. I think the background gradients are working great also.
