Marcou does some amazing ink drawings. The idea that I have is that I am going to use a print that I have from Litho class. Also the poster is going to promote some clothing company called Shady Robot. Here is what I have.

ReplyDeleteI really like your typeface. I think you're off to a good start. I think the main difference between your work and his right now is the depth of the work. His work has multiple layers and the animals seem to be hidden/masked in certain areas. The smooth gradients and textures he uses give the work a polished look. Maybe if you smooth out the color on the robot and add a few layers in front or behind the robot? He also seems to work in primarily black and white, with a small addition of color(in the second one) are you planning to stick in this style? Or are you adding your own colors as well?
I love the idea, its funny that he uses animals and you've chosen a robot. Keep it up! and Thanks for your comments.
Yeah I think that you are doing good so far. I really like the type but the thing that I would be careful of would be sure to have the focus on your type and not as much on the image. There are certain things that you can do to bring more attention to the type too. Like maybe put your image as a lower opacity and then do some different variation of the placement of type. And ill let you know if I can think of anything else.
